Decorating for Christmas

It was time to start decorating for Christmas, so Caroline thought she would help out.

Outside Decorating

Doesn’t she look like one of the American Girl dolls?

She was trying to be sneaky and climb up the ladder.

Later that afternoon we ventured over to Harmon’s Tree Farm to cut down our Christmas tree.  They had so many fun things for Caroline to do.  They had swings shaped like reindeer…

…a Goat Town where the goats would climb up to this platform and you could send them food up via a bucket on a rope.  They had lots of other neat animals, too.

Caroline’s favorite part was riding the train.

Farm Tree Hunting

Poor Caroline kept complaining for a long time about sand spurs.  She is terrified of them after our recent trip to Edisto where we were constantly covered in them.  We kept laughing telling her that we left the sand spurs at the beach.  She got tired of walking, so Chris picked her up and got poked by…sure enough…SAND SPURS.  Bless her heart.  She knew what she was talking about.  We spent the rest of the afternoon dodging the pesky little things!

After ridding ourselves of the sand spurs we finally found the perfect tree!

Thanksgiving 2009

We traveled to Winston-Salem last Sunday to have Thanksgiving with my dad’s family.  Here Caroline is enjoying some kisses from Aunt Susan’s dog, Lucy.

She and Caroline hit it off since Meredith likes to dance with Brobee.

We continued Thanksgiving on Monday at Chris’ parent’s house where some of us had a “turkeyless” meal.  Poor Chris’ dad had a bit of a debacle with the new oil-free fryer.  I knew there’d be trouble when I showed up at 4 and my nephew who he was supposed to have napping was running around outside and my FIL hadn’t yet opened the box to the fryer.  Better luck next year, Papaw!  :)

Thursday we had Thanksgiving with my family, and Dickson and his roommate Charles joined us.

23 Months

Can you believe my little baby is 23 months old already? Mercy! She is such a sweetheart constantly giving mushy kisses and sweet hugs. Caroline is still a HUGE daddy's girl. The first thing she asks me EVERY morning is "where's Daddy?" She must ask me 30 times a day where he is. She is cracking us up with things she tells us all the time. Yesterday, she pretended to call every member of the Clary family, our friends down the street. When she got to Fran, she said...."Hey, Frannie. What are you doing? Oh...that sounds like fun!" The other day she told me she wanted some Cici's pizza NOW! She has also put her doll in "time out" and said, "Listen to me. I told you not to push your friends!" Wonder where she heard that??? It's hard to believe in a matter of a few weeks our little "baby" will be 2 and we'll be celebrating Christmas!!!

Edisto Trip

Grandma and Granddougie went with us for a weekend getaway to Edisto so the guys could do a little fishing. We arrived just in time for sunset!

Caroline wanted to go night night with Grandma, so she tried to sneak into her bed.

Poor Caroline is ALWAYS having to pull up her pants!

We were entertained by a bagpipe player from the Citadel on the beach.

Brobee & Emma's First Trip to the Zoo

Caroline's friend, Brobee (below) from Yo Gabba Gabba, and "Emma Baby" as Caroline calls her both made their first trip to the zoo!
