Exterior Illumination and Various Other Christmas Decorating

Caroline decided to help her daddy with his exterior illumination project.Boy, these lights sure are tasty. Our neighbor, Dalton, came over to help with the project, too. He's full of wisdom. He told me that 5 year olds are much stronger than babies except for the fact that babies are lower to the ground and can hit you pretty hard in the "tenders" which is quite painful. He also fed Caroline some Cheetos, so they are now best friends.
Wow, those lights look so cool!We put Caroline to work cutting the grass to improve the look of our project. She got off course just a wee bit. Here we are helping Grandma and Grandouggie pick out their tree. All the long sleeves and sweaters are just to put us in the holiday spirit. It was 70 degrees outside, so we were sweating as usual around this time of year!Next, we were off to pick out our own tree. Hmm...which one do I want? I think we'll take this one!
And here it is all decorated!Caroline is trying to sneak an ornament off the tree!
Finally, we can relax and enjoy looking at the Christmas tree!

Thanksgiving

Here are pics from Caroline's first Thanksgiving. She loved all the food and all the people. Surprisingly, she really enjoyed cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Yummy!

49 Weeks

Caroline's first birthday is so close, and I am going to be sad when our weekly pictures come to an end. That means my baby is growing up way too fast! I'm sure Caroline will be glad for me to quit torturing her with all the pictures, though! She continues to amaze us every day. Last night I started to feed her some yogurt when I realized she didn't have on a bib. I got up from the table and she got upset and started to form the sign for "more" with her hands. I nearly cried. She finally did her first sign! I had kind of let the signing go by the wayside lately because it didn't seem to be sinking in, but apparently she is picking up on it! We have had a busy week with the holidays approaching, but we have been enjoying having Aunt Kim home. She stayed with us for 2 nights and Caroline was thrilled. Mom and Dad traveled to Duke on Monday & Tuesday. Dad has had a rough week as he has developed pneumonia. We pray that it will clear up soon because it has been awful on top of everything else he has to deal with. One day at a time! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know Caroline will enjoy all the turkey!

Here is her bunny rabbit to go with her cute bunny overalls.

Caroline likes to lift up your shirt to find your belly underneath!

Sweet kisses from Aunt Kim!Let's wake up Daddy!

Ouch!!! We're worn out from all that playing!

48 Weeks

Here are Caroline's 48 week pics. She had her flu shot today and didn't even cry! She only grunted a little...what a brave girl! At Publix this morning the cashier gave Caroline a balloon and you would have thought she had won the lottery the way she was jumping up and down. The whole way home I'd look in the rear view mirror and see that balloon going all over the place. We are very excited about Aunt Kim coming home this weekend. We can't wait to spend the whole week with her! Here she is showing off her teeth!
She's staring intently at her daddy!
It looks like she's saying her prayers. "Please tell Mommy to quit taking my picture so much! Amen."
Caroline's friend, Lela, came over to play yesterday! Caroline had fun bringing her toys to play with all day!

Paci Bandit

Huiet Ann & Ella Grace came over to play on Monday. All 3 of them tried to steal each other's pacifiers the whole time, but of course Caroline was the ring leader.

Aubrey came over to play on Tuesday. Caroline had fun trying to steal her paci as well. At least she didn't try to climb up in her car seat like she did with Baby Will!

Caroline's Second Trip to the Zoo

Since Chris was taking some vacation time to recover from surgery we decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather and take Caroline to the zoo today.Look at all the beautiful colors!
Caroline met a new friend at the zoo. Here's the koala taking a nap.

Caroline liked exploring the botanical gardens.

Dancing in the gardens... Clap for the fountain...yeah!

Ok...check out this elephant with the stick.
He's eating this giant stick. I've never seen one eat a stick before...gross!

Riding the carousel was so much fun!
