It certainly has been a busy week. Sadly, our Uncle Steve passed away over the weekend after a long battle with kidney cancer. We were blessed to have him on earth for 61 years. It has been a difficult week for our family having to say "good-bye," but I am comforted by the words of Paul in II Tim. 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness..." We traveled to Winston-Salem for Steve's service which was quite beautiful. There was a gentle breeze blowing in the cemetery, and it was as if you could feel his presence with us. Uncle Steve loved the outdoors, and it was a beautiful day to send him on his way. It was much like the day 2 years ago when he took me on a long, quiet walk through the woods with the leaves beginning to change colors. We will certainly miss Uncle Steve, but his sweet, serene spirit will always be with us.
Chris continues to be suffering greatly from his shoulder injury. He has gone to physical therapy several times now and will go back tomorrow. He returns to the orthopaedist next week, and we hope he will do something to relieve poor Chris from all this pain!I'm learning how to wave!Caroline enjoyed getting to meet her cousins while we were in Winston-Salem. This is Meredith, Sarah and Matthew with Granddougie. Uncle Steve's dog, Lucy was so much fun to play with!
Caroline loved to open her mouth so Lucy could give her kisses...YUCK!!!
This is Cousin Sarah. She loved to play with Caroline and take good care of her. She is going to make a great little mommy one day!
Caroline loved to have Grandma push her on the luggage cart all over the hotel on our trip...well, except the one time she fell off...oops!
