16 Months!

Caroline turned 16 months old today! She is cracking us up daily with all the new words she is learning. Yesterday, she threw her sippy cup and it hit Chris on the ankle. He told her it hurt and she said, "I'm sorry!" What a sweetheart! She has been on the go lately! We have been to Monkey Joe's (a giant indoor place full of inflatable slides and things to climb over) twice in the last week. Caroline is obsessed with slides. If we're walking down the street and she sees a slide in someone's yard she'll say, "slide, all done" and try to escape the stroller because she's all done with the walk and wants to slide! We also made a quick trip to the zoo on Friday, but it was super crowded, so we didn't stay long. We always like seeing the baby giraffe and riding the carousel, though! She is showing off her lovely feet!
She will wear hair bows and pony tails, but she HATES headbands...get this thing off!

Another cute thing she does is if you ask her something that she doesn't know the answer to she'll say (in a cute little voice) "I don't know" and do this with her hands!

Easter at Aunt Mel's

After nap time and an afternoon of watching the Master's (which I got to go to last Thursday with my dad by the way...what a great day) we headed over to Aunt Mel's for dinner. After dinner we went to the playground. Caroline being the adventurous one that she is wanted to slide down all the big kid slides. She almost came off the slide the first few times and cried but still wanted to get right back on it. This time, Grammy decided to go with her, but since they both weigh next to nothing they about came off the slide, too!Caroline enjoying the lake.
Caroline with Aunt Mel

Here is Caroline, Grammy and Cousin Michael opening up her Easter gift.
After Caroline got the tissue paper out all I could see was clothes flying all over the room left and right as fast as she could throw them. She even landed one on Michael's head. Then, she got to the bottom of the bag and found a prized possession... A new Baby Bumblebee movie!
She's patiently waiting for someone to play it for her!

Easter at Grandma & Granddougie's

After church we headed over to Grandma & Granddougie's for lunch!

Dickson and Charles, two students from Benedict College that are from Kenya, Africa, joined my parents for the weekend. We always have a hard time finding food that they like to eat, but we picked a few winners this time! They still won't eat ham!

After lunch, Grandma had an Easter egg hunt prepared for us outside!
I think Caroline is gasping at the fact that Charles is finding all the Easter eggs!
You said I'm supposed to eat this, right?

Charles was nice and tried to help Caroline find an egg!

Counting to see who won...Charles of course! He got to pick out a prize!
Inside Granddougie prepared us for his egg hunt which involved some difficult clues. There are no pics because I don't ever miss out on one of his great Easter egg hunts. It's always a challenge, but of course I won! :) After the inside egg hunt we played the gift exchange game with Dickson and Charles and fought over some great garage sale finds. They thought the game was fun. What a wonderful Easter! Now if we can just get Granddougie feeling better...he has a horrible respiratory infection.

Easter Egg Hunt at Church

Sunday after church we had an Easter egg hunt. It was my job to make sure the eggs were hidden and that everyone knew where to go to find them! Here are all the kids lined up before I gave them instructions. Now where did she say the eggs would be???The 1 & 2 year olds got the playground to themselves to find eggs, and it was just Caroline and Andrew to gather them all up!So proud!Caroline let Andrew find most of the eggs because she was more interested in sliding down the slide, but she did manage to pick up a few.
You said I was supposed to eat more eggs, right?
What a sweet face!

Our Easter

Saturday night Caroline decided to do stunts on her tricycle while I was taking food for Easter dinner over to Grandma and Granddougie's house. She wound up with some nasty scrapes on her head, face and shoulder for Easter! Here are pics from Easter at our house. Caroline was very excited about getting a new baby doll. It even has its own potty. Caroline thinks it's funny to try to sit on the baby's potty.

I made peanut butter bunny pancakes for breakfast.
And a bunny cake for Easter dinner!

Our Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we decided we should teach Caroline how to hunt Easter eggs in preparation for the big day!
She picked up the idea quickly with help from her friends, Janie and Dalton.

While hunting Easter eggs, someone else decided to join us. Vedder, our dog, found more than an egg in the bushes...he found this giant turtle that had crawled up from the pond next door.

Chris is examining it to determine what kind it is. We couldn't figure it out, but promptly returned him to his home via this shovel!
