Cousin Rufus' Party

Here are pics from Cousin Rufus' party. Caroline wanted to show everyone all the presents for her baby cousin, Rufus. Since Rufus hasn't arrived yet, Caroline decided to help out by opening his presents for him.
What do you mean I'm going to have to share your lap?
Hey...who stuck this bow on my head?
Maybe nobody will see me open this one!

46 Weeks

Here are Caroline's 46 week pics along with a picture of her waiting in line for her first presidential election. Chris, Caroline, Mom and I waited for over 2 hours before Mom & Dad's neighbor who is a poll worker saw Mom waiting in line and told her she needed to come to the front of the line due to her condition. Too bad she didn't see us earlier, but it did cut about another 30-45 minutes off our wait. Caroline enjoyed waving at all the people in line. She missed all the excitement of pushing all the buttons because she gave it up and went to sleep right before we got up there. Chris is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with his recovery from shoulder surgery. He got his stitches out on Monday and started back on physical therapy yesterday. Hopefully he'll be back to fishing before too much longer!

Happy Halloween

Caroline's first Halloween was so much fun. Since Granddougie wasn't allowed to drive yet after his heart procedure, Caroline and I took him to chemo. All the staff were dressed up for Halloween and they had the whole building decorated. The first floor was like a carnival with popcorn and cotton candy. The infusion floor was decorated with lots of superheros. Caroline brightened everyone's day by coming dressed as a tiger. Dad's doctor who is a HUGE Clemson fan especially loved it.
Going for a spin around the block! They even had a horse there for her to play with! One of the nurse's kids dressed up like a cowboy. Caroline loved to play with his horse! Here's Allison, one of the nurses, dressed up like Wonderwoman. Allison and I went to high school together. Here is Caroline entertaining the patients during lunch! Here are Caroline's tiger poses. This is Sweet Tiger.Happy TigerClapping TigerGrowling TigerDrunk TigerOk...I thought you guys said there would be candy in this bag! Here is Caroline's first attempt at trick-or-treating. She didn't understand that you're supposed to wait on the porch for your candy. She just liked to climb up everyone's front step and run through their house! Oops! So, we decided to go home and pass out candy instead!
Yummy cardboard!

45 Weeks

Well, it has been another busy week around our house. Chris had his shoulder surgery on Friday and has had quite a difficult recovery. They almost stuck him in the hospital overnight because he kept blacking out so much. They were afraid to send him home. The recovery is going very slow. I wish I could just snap my fingers and make it better for him! Dad was in the hospital today having a cardio ablation done to permanently fix a heartbeat problem. We are thankful that all went well with that! I got a great laugh today after the nurse took his complete medical history detailing the removal of one kidney, part of the other kidney, removal of the adrenal glands, the radiofrequency ablation to the remaining kidney, etc....then said...are you an organ donor??? I died laughing. She didn't think it was so funny, but come on...you just asked a man with cancer if he was an organ donor. My dad politely told her it was an inside joke since he didn't have many organs left to donate! Glory! Caroline is getting a second tooth up top and it has been giving her quite a fit this week poor thing, but she's still running all over the place. She's happy to have her daddy home for a bit while he's recovering. We can't wait for Halloween. I'm sure you all can guess what Caroline will be. Look for pics soon!

44 Weeks

Well, it's hard to believe we've made it to 44 weeks now! Today is Granddougie's birthday...happy birthday! This last week has been quite busy. Chris will be having shoulder surgery this Friday, so we have been getting prepared for that. Caroline learned to clap this week. Now if she can just combine the clapping with her dancing and foot stomping she'll be ready for a blue grass concert! Those are some big eyes! Here's Caroline showing off her new clapping skills!

Ok...isn't this just the sweetest picture???
Here is Caroline having some playtime with her twin friends.Ok guys, really you're making me dizzy!!!
Caroline is practically sitting on top of Huiet Ann. She doesn't understand it's not polite to squash your friends.

Whatever they're looking at must be fascinating.
